Interconnection
between movement and art personifies architecture, therefore transformative
elements stimulate empathy between space and inhabitants.

Why does this matter for an
architecture school?
Architectural education maintains a
reputation for creating a pressuring studio culture that negatively impacts the
health and wellbeing of their students, according to a research conducted by
the AIAS and the Graduate
Architecture, Landscape, and Design Student Union (GALDSU) of the University of
Toronto (2013).
Thus, my building seeks to focus on
assisting students to manage negative thoughts as well as to maintain their
mental and physical wellbeing through considerations of colour, proportion and
space.
The kinetic
rhythm of the roof observes the architecture's ability to create an intimate
and private space in conjunction with a liberal, open area. The school is
therefore able to reciprocate stimulations of comfort, stability and security
as well emotional alleviation and inspire.

Moving shade panels
The
transformative panels recognise the significance of a moving element to
empathise with the pragmatic concerns of the clients, thus providing shade in a
fluid formation through linear motion. It is this oxymoronic propagation
amalgamated with a calming shade of blue that pursues the incitement of serenity
and relaxation within students.
Interconnection
between movement and art creates a personified architecture that functions as a
microcosmic representation of a perpetually dynamic culture. Thus, the
creation of transformative forms stimulates an emotional connection between space
and inhabitants through understanding and empathy.
